Seventh High with the Student Council, trainers and some candidates! :) 

Over a month ago, I remember my friends and sir Troy forcing me to join the pageant in school. They got the forms, filled up the necessary information, got my pictures and passed it to one of the student council officers. After 4 days, I got a call from Ikoy, the SC secretary and told me that I’m up for screening. My heart was beating too fast. I didn’t know what to expect. I even thought of not attending the screening. But I did not want to disappoint the people who wanted me to give it a shot. It took me quite a while to compose myself. I went to the SC office for the screening, saw Ikoy and the other students. “Amanda? Ikaw na”, the SC President called me. My hands were shaking. I went inside and I saw 3 SC officers and 3 panelists from different departments in school. After several questions, I got a little emotional but let’s skip that part. Haha medyo mahaba ‘yan. I got good feedback as I went out of the room. Ikoy and Mon said I did great.  Their words made me feel a lot better. 

I was preoccupied for a while after the screening. I talked to sir Troy and told him that I wanted to back out. But he didn’t entertain that idea. He wanted me to go for it. “Kaya mo ‘yan. Kilala kita.” He told me inspiring words. I was like Katniss and he was like Cinna and Haymitch combined. I got a text message from Mon. He asked me to go to the SC office. I went there and saw some familiar faces. I sat beside some people I know and waited for Mon’s announcement. Some SC officers were there. Mon entered the room, introduced himself and the reason why he called for a meeting. “You guys are here because you got in the TOP 7.” TOP 7 pairs out of 44! I wanted to walk out of the room. That’s not what I wanted to happen. It’s like the universe lined everything up together and things just started NOT to work in my favor. I couldn’t leave and back out because we were paired up and if I do, my partner will be disqualified. I just took a deep breath and talked to God in my head. I asked for guidance. 

Preparations and training programs left and right. All I could do was to pray and do my best. My feet almost gave up on me after several nights of training with 6-inch heels on. February 24 was the pageant day. Went to school early for the TDR. After that, we were all asked to prep up for the pageant. I took a bath in school and waited for Frankie, my make-up artist, to arrive. I must say, he’s the best make-up artist I know! :) He would even give me tips on what to do on stage to make the audience and judges remember me.

I didn’t expect that I’d be one of the top 5 candidates. I knew after the announcement that the Q&A portion was next. We were given 20 questions the day before to help us prepare for the Q&A. But Chynna Ortaleza gave me a spontaneous question. I took a deep breath and I gave my best shot :) When the 2nd runner up and 1st runner up were called, I wasn’t expecting that I’d get the title. I was already thankful that I got in the top 5 and I believe I presented my best self to everyone. Then I heard them call candidate no. 2. Candidate number 2 is Ms MTC 2012. They called.. ME. It was so surreal. I also won Best in Formal Wear :)

Say hello to my new babies! I’ve been on a shoe binge for the past days. This was the only pair left, in my size, on sale! How awesome is that? It was meant for me! This is my first pair of printed heels since I buy the plain ones most of the time. It’s really lovely and pretty comfy too! 

 I borrowed my sister’s blue sweater and paired it with a black skirt. I also wore a bib necklace to add the edgy feel in this ensemble. :) Btw, Im looking for a photographer (amateur/professional) to help me with some outfit posts! :) Tweet me @ninizar or message me here! :)
